On the second Saturday of August, we organized the inaugural edition of the Zdolej Zubra race as part of the Expeleo association. It was an unofficial and trial event where we aimed to test the route, the atmosphere, and the overall concept of the race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201eIt is not a race in the traditional sense, where the goal is to defeat opponents. The main idea is to challenge yourself, complete the entire course, and reach the finish line.\u201c<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2014 Jakub \u0160ust\u00e1\u010dek, race organizer<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n At the starting line stood members of our association and our closest friends. In total, 11 determined participants gathered, ready to take on this new challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A route that gives nothing for free<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The course measured 21 kilometers and led across the hills and peaks surrounding the town of Zub\u0159\u00ed. Along the way, participants climbed approximately 900 meters of elevation, making it a truly demanding terrain. The route followed forest trails, crossed meadows, and ran along hill ridges offering beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Refreshment and energy boost<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The hilly profile tested everyone\u2019s physical condition, so we left nothing to chance. Two refreshment stations were prepared along the route, which proved more than welcome in the summer heat. Participants could recharge with chilled watermelon, our homemade raw bars, and refresh themselves with water or an isotonic drink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Victory over yourself<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Each participant tackled the course in their own way. Some chose a faster pace and aimed to complete the route as quickly as possible. Others took their time, stopped at viewpoints, and enjoyed the atmosphere of the day. In the end, determination proved stronger than fatigue, and we were very pleased that all 11 participants successfully finished the entire course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At the finish line, there was joy, shared experiences, and a well-earned sense of victory. That is exactly what Zdolej Zubra is about! It\u2019s not about seconds on a stopwatch, but about overcoming your own limits and enjoying the journey you take and share with others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A big thank you to everyone<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n We would like to thank all participants for their courage and the energy they put into the race. We tested both the route and the organization and confirmed that this kind of challenge makes sense.
